Do the steps in order following the numbers.

STEP 2
I will model how I organized my steps to writing my recipe. Explain to students this is a How To Non-fiction wring.
Step 1- will explain how to do something
Step 2 - tells what materials are needed and gives specific amounts necessary
Step 3 - organized in steps ( sequence of events)

STEP 3
Step 1 - Share written recipe with students (done in front of students)
Step 2 - Share the completed project on KidPix of my recipe
Step 3 - Introduce students to laptop-KidPix (just for exposure)

Step 4
Step 1 - Do a shared writing with students
Step 2 - Students will work with teacher to create the same recipe (making a fruit smoothie)

Step 5
Step 1 - Note to parent asking them to help with a simple recipe
Step 2 - Students start writing recipe using HM format
Step 3 - Students begin working on creating KidPix slideshow; narrating each page as they complete it
Step 4 - Put all students work on disc to be distributed to each family.

My students and I will create a digital recipe book using KidPixs. They will be responsible for choosing a family recipe with the help our their parents. They must be able to write the recipe in the sequence order so that other students will be able to follow it; present a detailed shopping list with all necessary ingredients to prepare the dish and the final stage will be to narrate their recipe. Each student will have a cover page, the step by step page of directions, a picture of their recipe that they will create. When each student has completed their recipe, I will attempt to put them all together in a "class recipe book" and each student will receive a copy.

The students and I will create a feedback rubric with a checklist of the components that we feel are important. After brainstorming with Nena, we both agree that trying to have students post their work is next to impossible. I have some ideas of where I want to go with this stage, but it still needs development. I anticipate that this will probably be a lengthy project with all the writing, learning to use a laptop, creating pictures, narrating, giving feedback and allowing time for edits. I am guessing that this could require anywhere from 15 to 25 one hour sessions--but the truth of the matter is I have NO idea.

This project spans over several standards:

LA-Reading St. 2 /3- Comprehension/Literary response- following written directions

Writing Standards - Strategies, Applications, and Conventions - will be covered

Listening and Speaking Standards

ISTE: St. 4 - Plan and manage activities to develop a complete project

                       1. Creativity & innovation

         2. Communication
